We check documented halal certificates from recognised Australian Islamic certification bodies (e.g. AFIC, Halal Australia, ICCV), directly contact restaurant management to verify kitchen processes, and classify establishments as 100% certified, Muslim-owned, halal-meat-only, or halal-friendly.
Restaurants marked "Halal Verified" have been assessed by Halalroo based on certification, supplier information, or direct confirmation from the restaurant. The vast majority of our listings fall into this category.
Halalroo is not a certification authority. Restaurant practices, suppliers, and ownership can change without notice. We always recommend confirming directly with the restaurant before ordering — especially if you have strict requirements.
Halal Verified — the restaurant serves halal meat and is fully halal or halal-certified.
Halal Friendly — the restaurant offers halal options but may also serve non-halal items, or has notes worth knowing (e.g., serves alcohol on premises). We list the specific reason on the restaurant's detail page.
Status Unknown — we haven't been able to confirm the restaurant's halal status. Use your judgment and confirm before ordering.
Contact us with the restaurant name and what's wrong. We review every correction and update the listing when verified.

No. Being listed on Halalroo is free, and claiming your restaurant is free. We don't sell placement or prioritise paid listings over unpaid ones.
You may already be listed — we add restaurants automatically from public sources. To take control of your listing, claim it here. You'll be able to edit your information, upload photos, and manage your presence on Halalroo. It's free.
Owners can claim their free listing in minutes. Once verified, you'll get access to your own dashboard to update photos, menu items, opening hours, and halal credentials — all in real time.
Open the app, go to the Profile tab, and tap "Delete Account". Your account, favourites, and personal information are permanently deleted immediately. You can restore any purchases you made using the same Apple or Google account on a new signup.
